관점에 따라 유치하다는 평도 있지만, 사랑을 확인해 가는 과정이 다른 로맨스 장르와 큰 차이를 보인다. 흔한 신데렐라 소재의 클리셰(부회장, 비서 등)을 가지고 있지만, 소극적인 여주가 아닌 적극적이고 강력한 의지를 가진 여주가 이야기를 이끌어 가며, 오히려 스토리 진행에 있어서는 남주보다 여주의 역할이 중요하다.

After his personal assistant tells him that he’ll need to find a replacement, vice-chairman Lee Yeong-jun has trouble falling asleep.
Mi-so’s reaction to his proposal confounds Yeong-jun, but while others may think he’s brilliant and handsome, she just sees an impossible narcissist.
Yeong-jun takes Yu-sik’s advice to heart and tries to impress Mi-so with romance but is taken aback when he hears that she’s gone on a blind date.
Yeong-jun and Mi-so bicker over her intense competitiveness and willingness to do anything to get first prize. Yeong-jun has an unwelcome visitor.
Despite his strict aversion to chemical food additives, Yeong-jun agrees to have ramen at Mi-so’s place and his reaction afterward surprises her.
After feeling humiliated by Yeong-jun, Mi-so reconfirms her assessment of him as a huge narcissist and decides to take a day off from seeing him.
Mi-so wants to know why Yeong-jun hired her, but his answer isn’t what she expects. Everyone is astonished to see Yeong-jun at the workshop.
Yeong-jun’s mother invites Mi-so over to ask about her past. Mi-so tries to find out more about Yeong-jun’s scar but he refutes her presumptions.
Mi-so becomes more fixated about what happened, but Yeong-jun wants her to stop talking about the past. Mi-so tells Lee Seong-yeon where he stands.
Mi-so can’t shake her suspicions about Yeong-jun, but his mother confirms his story. Yeong-jun overhears Mi-so talking to her sister about him.
Haunted by the past, Mi-so decides to confront Yeong-jun about what he knows, but she’s not the only one wrestling with timeworn memories.
Yeong-jun shows up at Mi-so’s place with a suitcase. Mi-so’s cooking isn’t up to his usual standard and they both fret about seeing a bad luck sign.
Just when he makes his move, Yeong-jun gets an emergency call and Mi-so is left wondering what she should do. Yeong-jun and Yu-sik go to France.
Yeong-jun introduces Mi-so to an old family friend who went to the same MBA school in the U.S. with him, but she’s surprised to find it’s a woman.
Mi-so is mortified when her father catches her with Yeong-jun in a compromising position and gets worried when Yeong-jun doesn’t answer his cell.
Yeong-jun suggests that they go out to eat together just when Mi-so gets a call from his mother wanting to have dinner -- but only with Mi-so.
